Reserved data for standard maintenance of ICT infrastructure
In each academic year, dates are reserved for maintenance of the central ICT infrastructure, whereby some or all ICT services may be temporarily unavailable. No events can be organised on these dates, as the Wi-Fi/internet connection may be (temporarily) unavailable or certain systems may be (temporarily) down.
Academic year 2023-2024
- Friday from 18:00 to 23:00:
September 22nd 2023, November 17th 2023, February 23rd 2024, April 19th 2024. - One day at the weekend (or on Saturday or Sunday):
October 7/8 2023, December 2/3 2023, March 9/10 2024, June 1/2 2024.
Academic year 2024-2025
- Friday from 18:00 to 23:00:
September 20nd 2024, November 8th 2024, February 7rd 2025, April 11th 2025. - One day at the weekend (or on Saturday or Sunday):
October 5/6 2024, November 30/ December 1 2024, February 22/23 2025, May 17/18 2025.

Security updates Microsoft
The security updates that Microsoft releases each month are implemented as follows on Radboud-Workstations and Windows Server Systems:
RU workstations
The Windows updates for the workstations are released every Friday after the third Tuesday of the month.

Windows Systems
Maintenance is always between 20:00 and 00:30 on the Monday evening after the second Tuesday of the month.
During the maintenance period, Windows services and systems are not available for one or more short periods (10 to 30 minutes) due to restarting:
- WinFile Network Drives: home directories, user profiles (very slow logins and logouts), workgroup folders and departmental data.
- Print service ISC
- Peage (print service students; after 22:00)
- Face (or Planon)
- E-planner (USC)
- STM Office (DSZ)
- Filemaker (Int. Office and SNUF)
- Exactly - Big Bear (CIF, CFA)
- ISC management servers
- Topdesk server (ISC, CIM)
- ArcGIS (FdM)
- License Server (FdM)

Linux systems
Linux systems are updated by default after midnight on the first Tuesday of the month.
A reboot takes place between 2 and 6:30 AM. During the maintenance period, a number of Linux services and systems may be unavailable for a short while (5 to 15 minutes). It concerns the following services:
- Webserver FdM
- FSW Server
- Productie Campus Kaart
- PWO Server
- RU Webdisk
- FSW Statistieken Server
- Syllabus+
- RSC servers
- Webfacilities Communication department
- LimeSurvey
- RDM Donders
- CMS Radboud (ru.nl and radboudnet.nl)
